C-Mac Trade Sale Announcement

Author: Aaron Chen  Date Posted:29 April 2019

As many of you know C-Mac has been trying to sell the business to staff over the last 4yrs utilizing an ESOP (Employee Share Ownership Plan) unfortunately, this has not progressed due to the slowness of the economy and the ability to transfer profits into the ESOP. An outright purchase was offered to staff but unfortunately a decision was made recently (by staff) that it was beyond their means and they could not proceed with the buyout.

Robert McMaster (one of the founders’ sons) heads up the business as its General Manager at present and has decided to retire due to health and other interests.

Margaret McMaster (Sole director) therefore decided to initiate a trade sale. This decision is a reflection of her having reached an age (81 years) and a stage in her life where divestment best suits her personal interests. Unfortunately no other family members are interested in managing the business.

C-Mac Industries (Aust.) Pty Ltd consists of several trading divisions:

1. C-Mac Sheet Metal
2. C-Mac Engineering & Gear cutting
3. C-Mac Nursery Equipment
4. C-Mac Maintenance Services
5. Accord Acoustics

A business sale in today’s environment is expected to take 9-12 months so there won’t be any changes to the management or operation of C-Mac for some time.

This is just another stage in the life cycle of C-Mac as we come up to celebrating 50 years of operation in 2016.

An interesting and exciting future awaits us all.

Regards,
           Robert McMaster
General Manager
